Scantic Books is proud to publish the debut story collection by Mike Scofield: Gregor the Prescient and Other Stories.
The characters in these stories face the unexpected. Some survive. All of them find themselves fighting for control when their lives are disrupted by inexplicable forces. The convolutions may be humorous or horrifying. They are always unavoidable. An escape from the all-encompassing Web. A gleeful dive into it. A happy trip into the past and exuberant return. The last gasp of civilization. Varied in tone and subject, the fifteen stories in this volume are funny, scary, lit by whimsy, or shadowed by death. Within each, the boundaries of present-day life are redrawn by a warp in reality.
